Relishing the opportunity to share more of his music and inspired by the great English psychedelic bands of the late 60s and 70s, ARIA Award winning and Grammy-nominated engineer Sam Teskey (best known for his fret-work in much loved Australian blues-soul outfit The Teskey Brothers) was keen to make a record that could be enjoyed as a whole, from start to finish. The record itself is a cycle, starting with the stirring, pastoral folk of ‘Love’ and ending with its reprise, ‘Then Love Returns’. What Teskey presents across the seven tracks is nothing short of a cosmic journey, one that traverses a lot of musical territory. From sprawling, orchestral balladry to dissonant, ambient soundscapes, from folk to heavy psych-rock freak outs, it’s a surprising, thrilling and immersive listen.
