Max Richter’s score to the 2018 film. The film revolves around young artist Kurt Barnert (Tom Schilling) who has fled to West Germany, but continues to be tormented by his experiences as a youth during the Nazi years and the GDR-regime. When he meets student Ellie (Paula Beer), he is convinced that he has found the love of his life and begins to create paintings that mirror not only his own fate, but also the traumas of an entire generation.
